Fantastic bass for the price
Background: I've been an active, gigging bassist for the past decade or so.
I don't play in anything that necessarily requires a top quality bass, and in the past few years my hands have been suffering from some serious tendonitis (small hands and bass do not mix), so I figured rather than invest in a top-of-the-line short scale, I'd experiment with the VM Mustang.
First of all, it was shipped in impeccable condition. It arrived almost perfectly setup and only needed the most minuscule of adjustments to be 100% playable. I've had it for about three months now, and I haven't had to do much beyond routine maintenance to keep it in tip-top shape. It really takes a lot to knock it out of whack, even with multiple string changes and some more active gigs.
As far as the actual instrument, it's fantastic. The pickups do a great job of capturing the tone of the instrument - it's punchy and crisp, with solid mids and highs. I do find it a bit lacking on the low...
