Inexpensive true, but don't call it cheap.
I could not be more pleased with this bass if I were twins. Kidding aside, The Squier Deluxe Active Jazz Bass compares to the better basses I have owned. They are as follows; Fender Jazz American Standard, Ibanez Ergodyne, Peavey Dyna-Bass. All of those were $700 or more at time of purchase. This Squier stays in tune and is solidly built. It is heavy like a bass should be. You will not believe how beautiful she is too. All black, including the ebonol fretboard, except the chrome hardware. The "Active" electronics boost the volume but it gives real punch when you want to play slap. This is a great option for any music style and my cover band plays most styles. This will quickly become your go to bass and you may stop bringing others to gigs altogether. This is the one that gets the compliments anyway. I bought mine when it went on sale for $195 for a couple of weeks right before Christmas 2011. Even at it's regular price you can't go wrong. Shipping was quick,(2 days)and right before...
