squier bass guitar
this bass guitar unfortunately comes along without any gigbag, which I don't like, you have to buy it extra. However, for the price you get a very good beginner instrument, easy to play and a very good in sound, I bought this instrument for my niece in Manila who is studying bass guitar and as I invited her to play on my next record she needs an axe to pratice on, it's worth the money, no doubt.

A very good bass for the price
I purchased the "Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar Electric Bass Guitar Special". For the price, I find it to be a very, very nice bass. Mine is 3-tone sunburst, and combined with the black pickguard, it looks gorgeous. The fit and finish are quite impressive - frets are smooth and free of any sharp edges, the neck is fast and silky smooth, and all hardware and parts seem solid and well put together. I had to crank the trussrod clockwise a good half turn to get the action a little lower, but after doing that and tweaking the saddle height adjusters a bit (the bass comes with the needed allen wrenches) the action is good. As to the sound, I don't find it to be as rich and throaty as my Fender Jazz bass (MIM) which I've upgraded with DiMarzio pickups and Badass bridge, but I do find that by adjusting the volumes of the P and J pickups, and master tone, and the bass boost, I'm able to get some very satisfying and good tones out of it. I find the best tone is to have the P pickup turned up...
Very Solid & Tonefull
purchased this pass just as the picture shows (transluscent red). The finish is consistent and blemish free. The neck finish is a satin which is fery fast and smooth. The set up needed a slight tweak but nothing out of the ordinary (being somewhat preferential anyway) The sound works for me, I like the option of the jass or P pickups. The active bass dial is a nice feature for that punch!
This is a first "ownership" bass for me. I've borrowed many-a-bass in my day but to own one the price was right with these great features. I plugged into an ampeg practive amp (B-25) and away we go to bass thumping, groove feeling slides and pippity pops.
How can you go wrong with it? I'm sure it doesn't compare to a bass for $1,000 but for that I could buy (5) of these and give some of them to friends.
