A wonderful pro-grade guitar at a fantastic price!
Back in the 1960 through the 1970s, I was part of a band and played a number of guitars, but mostly a Fender Mustang which I loved, in large part because the scalloped cuts in the body, one at the back top (when holding the guitar) and another on the top edge of body where the picking arm rests. These two modifications to the body of the Mustang made it fantastically comfortable to play.

When I saw these cuts on the Squier Strat, it was like a dream come true. My only reservation was the price - super low, it seemed.

But I'd heard good things about it and made the purchase. Best guitar I have ever played. Simply amazing and now all my other guitars pretty much sit unused.

It comes with the nut set up for smaller gauge strings - which is great for me as I like light strings so I can easily bend notes. The neck reinforcement bar did need some adjustment to straighten the neck a tad, which then allowed lowering the bridge section for each string. Once...

Do I expect TOO MUCH?
Had it for about two weeks and I'm about to return it now.

Things that I like(d):
1. It's a classic Fender and I was looking for something of good quality with great price.
2. Sounds clear and crystal good, unplugged.
3. This can be subjective but I think this BulletStrat is more comfortable than a Les Paul simply because it's wider and thinner.
4. All the previous four ratings here on Amazon and even higher ratings on Musician's friend.

Things I don't like much:
1. 15th fret of lower E string is dead, and like always I take quality control into my rating account.(I don't want to bother go to a local shop for a fix, never mention that's $20 in addition)
2. I couldn't figure out why the tune nob never changed the sound (like not a bit)? (I'm new to electric but my Les Paul does change tunes... in a much much more obvious way)
3. Talking about plugged sound, it's no where close to unplugged. Notes are pretty mixed up and not...
Fender Squier HSS Bullet Strat
After owning a USA Standard Strat and spending money to get it cleaned up, I wanted to buy a second strat to take heat off of that one, but didn't want to pay the arm and two legs that I paid for the Standard Strat. Heard about this one at first from my next door neighbor, and he let me play on his. Played pretty good unplugged, so we took it over to my place where I had several amplifiers. Played it through a modeling amp and it sounded pretty good. However, I played it through a tube amplifier and it didn't sound quite as well.

In either case, for a guitar that is meant to be a starter guitar, for the price paid versus results, this guitar is an exceptional buy.
