Mighty Mite Replacement Jazz Bass Neck - Maple Fingerboard
Fender Licensed Maple Replacement Jazz Bass Neck.
With so many on offer these days, it is great to have a name you can trust. This item is certainly that and will be a perfect buy. The distributor have added some great touches and this equals great value.

great finish, beautiful grain, good cut (followup)
it hasn't been installed yet since I ordered the body from a much slower company, but from what I see so far its extremely well made. the fret ends are a little bit sharp but that's pretty typical of these kind of necks and I bought it expecting to do some degree of work on the frets. So far, I've actually got far less work than expected.

My only complaint is that my tuner bushings fit lose in the holes, but that's an issue with the tuners (a blemished set from another company) rather than the neck itself. I'll give 5 stars now and a follow up later once I've installed the neck.

The heel is shallower than most replacement necks, I ended up needing to put a shim in the neck pocket to get it to fit right. Save your money, get a Guitarfetish neck. It's the same quality for half the price.

We Needed to Shim the Bridge
This neck looks fine, the fret spacing is excellent, and once we got things set up right, the bass is working great and fun to play. I don't know what to expect of a neck that's made by one manufacturer for potential use on multiple different instruments, so perhaps what I am describing here is typical, in which case I'd have given them a 5 instead of a 4. When we initially put the neck on the bass, there was a horrendous fret buzz over a considerable length of the neck. We initially tried adjusting the truss rod, but adjusting it in either direction did not improve the problem. We finally shimmed the bridge up off the face of the instrument about 1/20th of an inch with four business cards cut to fit, and it works great. I'm hoping the business cards hold up over time, but if not, we will come up with some other shim material now that we know it worked.
