Fender Modern Player Jaguar® Bass, Black, Maple Fretboard
Throughout its history, Fender® has always made a special point of welcoming new players to the family by offering entry-level instruments of remarkable style and substance (such as the Duo-Sonic™, Mustang® and Musicmaster® models), with great sound, classic looks, solid performance and eminent affordability. The Modern Player series continues that great my-first-Fender tradition, with thoroughly modern features and several distinctively unconventional new takes on our most revered instruments-all with outstandingly attainable value. The Modern Player Jaguar Bass® presents a lean, mean and stripped-down version of the ultra-sleek bass model, with a powerful P/J configuration-a Modern Player Precision Bass middle pickup and Modern Player Jazz Bass® bridge pickup-and streamlined control configuration. Features include a koto body, C-shaped maple neck, maple fretboard with 9.5” radius and 20 jumbo frets, three-ply parchment pickguard, three Jazz Bass control knobs (middle volume, bridge volume, master tone), vintage-style four-saddle bridge with brass saddles, open-gear tuners and nickel/chrome hardware. Available in Black.
With so many on offer these days, it is great to have a name you can trust. This item is certainly that and will be a perfect buy. The distributor have added some great touches and this equals great value.

Great value
Don't let the Fender website fool you - this is not an entry level bass, only the price is. From the brass saddle, to the pickups to the very cool aesthetics, this bass has all of the cool vibe of its 60's siblings without the price tag. Out of the box, the action was slightly high, so I lowered the action to my liking with the included tools. The pbass p/u is deep, responsive and articulate while the j pup is bright but not harsh. The sounds between the two are endless. The neck is maple. Although the photo of the neck is a light maple, the actual color looks slightly amber, giving it a cool vintage vibe. The black finish is typical Fender high quality. The frets play easily, although a few could use a dressing. There is plenty of sustain between the maple neck, koto body and brass saddle. Overall, the bass feels great, looks great and sounds great.

sweet sounding bass
Its hard to beat the sound of a fender jaguar bass. The only reason why I have 4 stars is that I had to adjust the neck due to the fret buzz.
